Teaching Pedagogy/Philosophy
In my role as teacher, designer, or trainer, I am responsible for the following:

The personal and professional development of my students in a non-threatening and caring manner that facilitates and reinforces the learning process. This approach requires the acceptance that all students are individuals and as such, have unique skills, abilities, and needs. I care about each student and am committed to their success, both in their respective programs and in their lives.

The mastery and utilization of various instructional methods, strategies, and curricula that provide students with a more diverse and reflective approach to learning and establish the foundation for continued research and learning. This requires an in-depth knowledge of the various learning styles and a willingness to incorporate these styles in a manner that increases understanding and empowers students to apply this understanding to real-world business and personal situations.

The application of continuous improvement to my teaching methods by learning and growing as an individual, a teacher, and a subject matter expert in my field. This requires my participation in teaching, research, and management conferences, my continued research in the field of business management, and the presentation of my findings in management and business journals. My self-reflection regarding my teaching abilities, the teaching profession, and ways to improve both of them motivates me in this endeavor.

The identification of the level of understanding for each individual student and working with students to increase this understanding in a manner that makes the learning process more enjoyable and more relevant to their life experiences and their success. This requires the utilization of both formative and summative assessments to more accurately determine the depth of knowledge and guide students as needed throughout the semester.
